Families will soon have a new place to remember their loved ones on the grounds at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka. A groundbreaking and blessing took place Wednesday, June 22, at the site of the new Holy Trinity Mausoleum.

“We think it will be a wonderful place for families to come and gather and remember their loved ones,” said Archbishop Joseph Naumann, Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.

The $3 million, 2,500 square foot building will feature hand-crafted stained glass windows and will have an indoor chapel in case of inclement weather during graveside services.

It will be able to house 572 crypts inside and outside, 200 glass-front niches and 100 marble-front niches for cremated remains.

“It will be a place for the bodies of those who have served the Lord well in this life, and who we believe are with Him forever in the heavenly kingdom,” Naumann said. Text: Lindsay Sax, WIBW.com
